Athletics

The Boys & Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball season runs from late November to mid March. Craig High School has been able to compete at the State level over the years, taking home State Championships in 2003 and 2012 for the boy's and girl's teams respectively. They have also recieved State Sportsmanship awards in 2000 and 2013 for the boy's and girl's teams respectively along with two Regional Championships each.

Volleyball season runs from early September to early December. Craig High School is proud to have won State Championship in 2016 as well as State Sportsmanship in 2000 and 3 Regional Championships.

Wrestling season runs from late September to early December.  The Craig High School wrestling program has a decorated history with 41 Region Champions between 1987 and present, 6 individual State Champions, 1 - 2x State Champion, State Sportsmanship awards in 2003, 2011 & 2014 and 3 Team Regional Championships.

In addition to all of the student's achievements, former CHS wrestling coach, Troy Thain has been inducted into the Alaska Wrestling Hall of Fame. 

Cross country season runs from late July to ealry September. The girls team were Regional Champions in 2001 and the boys in 2002, 2013 and 2014 as well as 3 individual Regional Champions.

The Cheerleading season runs from late November to mid March. Cheerleading has come a long way from cheering on the sidelines for their team as a form of encouragement. Cheerleading has become a sport wherein the cheerleaders can perform to motivate sports team, entertain the audience and they are also in competition. Their competitive routines range anywhere from 1 to 2 1/2 minutes, with components of tumbling, dance, jumps, cheers, and stunting. The squad has grown from 3 girls to starting this year with 12 girls.  They have competed at regionals while being adjudicated for their routines.
